The design itself is neither groundbreaking nor unique. The Milano Stovetop Espresso Maker is modeled after the universal moka pot design: a geometric hourglass shape with a brew basket sandwich tightly between the top and bottom of the brewer.

Made from high-quality food-safe aluminum, this moka pot is durable and hardy. However, with the aluminum build, the Milano Stovetop Espresso Maker is not dishwasher safe and requires hand washing only. Luckily, there are not many parts to this home espresso maker so hand washing is neither difficult nor time-consuming.

The build quality in general is top-notch. Some users do complain of the plastic handle melting after prolonged exposure to heat, however, this can be easily avoided by using the appropriate level of heat on your stove and making sure that the plastic handle is not situated directly above the open flame.
